Building Materials
This picture shows the differing materials we can use to construct our buildings in Bloodspear - both buildings actually use the precisely the same texture sets - meaning as far as hardware is concerned both are 'identical'. We're building our whole engine around a 'less means more' principle - by not aiming at very-high end cards, we're aiming at running on entry-level systems when we go to release, ensuring that our players get as smooth as possible an experience on as wide a variety of machines as possible.
All our buildings are built on a modular template, allowing our designer to create an infinite variety of layouts, and to mix the construction of buildings in terms of materials (stone ground floor etc). What this means is that we're able to produce complex, varied urban layouts that shouldn't stress hardware too much.

Desert Scorpion
Desert scorpions are a major predator in the Saranian Desert. They prey on camels, caravans, goats and anything else they think they can take on. Their poison is potent, and can be lethal to already weakened targets, but isn’t a patch on that of the king scorpion. Their poison sacs are used in the creation of antidote potions. Desert scorpions will occasionally cooperate to take down a large target, and in these cases up to 7 or 8 of these creatures may be seen together. Otherwise they operate as solitary individuals, making them a good foe for journeyman adventurers.
The model itself is a tweaked version of the king scorpion, with a slightly smaller stinger and claws. It has the same poly count (868) and uses another quarter share of the arachnids 256x256 pixel texture page.
