Hoorah! Our first screenshot! And it’s a blooper! Whilst testing our map editor, this shot emerged. Oddly reminded of Monty Python & The Holy Grail, we just had to post this up. What’s actually happened is that our hapless map designer has neglected to force the collision map for the floor to the floor geometry itself, causing our armoured (but not yet animated) test figure to wade effortlessly through the terrain. A big D’oh! all round.



Mistakes aside, this shot does show quite nicely some of the terrain detailing stuff we’re putting in place, like the ferns, grasses androcks (of which there are many types). Imagine if you will on top of this the randomly spawning items like mushrooms, toadstools, herbs, flowers, and woodland critters and you’re starting to get an idea of what an ingame scene will be like.
